Cigar Ring Size - Cigar Ring GaugeThe cigar ring size (cigar ring gauge) is the thickness, or diameter of a cigar. It is measured in 64ths of an inch. You can get an idea of the diameter of your cigar in inches by taking the ring size and dividing it by 64. For example, a cigar with a ring size of 32 (32/64ths) would be 1/2 inch in diameter. A cigar with a ring size of 64 would be 1 inch in diameter. Even though most cigar manufacturers list their cigar ring size on their packaging, here's how a cigar's ring size can be measured: 1. Cut your cigar. 2. Measure the inside thickness of the cut cigar using a ruler. Make sure you are using a ruler that measures in inches. 3. Multiply your reading by 64. For example, if your ruler reads 5/8 of an inch, (5/8 = .625) you would multiply .625 X 64 and that equals 40, which is the ring size.
